Fashion Law &
Business Conference
Africa's premier annual forum where fashion law meets strategy, policy, and innovation.
About the Conference
Where Africa's Fashion Future Is Actively Shaped.
The Fashion Law & Business Conference (FLBC) is the continent's most important annual gathering at the intersection of fashion, law, business, and policy. Each year, the FLBC brings together fashion professionals, legal experts, investors, policymakers, and innovators from across Africa and the diaspora to tackle the defining issues shaping the future of fashion on the continent.
From intellectual property protection and investment readiness to sustainability regulation and digital fashion — the FLBC is the space where legal expertise meets industry ambition, and where the conversations that matter most get the attention they deserve.
Conference Programme Highlights
Keynote Addresses
Opening and closing keynotes from Africa's foremost legal scholars, fashion industry leaders, and policy pioneers — setting the intellectual and strategic agenda for the year ahead.
Expert Panel Discussions
Deep-dive panels on the most pressing issues in African fashion law — intellectual property reform, model rights, sustainable fashion regulation, digital and AI disruption, trade policy, and more. Each panel is curated to produce insights, not just discussion.
IP Masterclasses
Practical, skills-based workshops on protecting creative work across African markets — from trademark filing to trade secret management, from copyright licensing to design rights registration.
Policy Roundtables
Collaborative sessions bringing together lawyers, government officials, and industry representatives to develop concrete policy proposals that participants commit to advancing in their own jurisdictions.
Legal Clinic Pop-Up
A dedicated clinic space at the conference venue where attendees can receive brief one-on-one consultations with FLI Africa's legal team on their specific IP and business law questions.
Networking Receptions
Curated networking sessions designed to forge lasting connections between designers, lawyers, investors, regulators, and academics from across the African continent and the global fashion law community.
