This duality creates both extraordinary opportunity and unique legal complexity. The protection of traditional textile heritage from commercial misappropriation is one of Ghana's most pressing fashion law challenges — requiring legal frameworks that recognise community rights, not just individual IP. At the same time, Ghana's growing cohort of contemporary fashion entrepreneurs needs access to the same commercial legal infrastructure available to their counterparts in other major fashion markets.
